No data leaves your device
DeskSip performs all computer vision locally using on-device models running in a Chrome offscreen document. No video frames, no embeddings, and no identifiable data are ever transmitted to any server.
What we store locally
DeskSip stores your hydration goal, sip timestamps, streak count, and notification preferences in chrome.storage.local — a sandboxed storage area accessible only by the extension. This data never leaves your machine.
Camera access
Camera permission is used solely to run the on-device sip-detection model inside the offscreen document. The extension never records, screenshots, or streams video to any destination.
Analytics
DeskSip collects no analytics, crash reports, or usage telemetry in its free tier. No third-party tracking scripts are loaded.
Pro tier
DeskSip Pro optionally syncs your streak and history to a secure cloud database tied to your account. This sync is opt-in and clearly disclosed at sign-up. Free tier users are unaffected.
